Finally, an update

David is doing great. The numbers continue in the right direction. It has been such a slow road to recovery, but we understand that healing takes time. I believe that continual detoxification is a powerful way to assist a body that has suffered dis-ease. Dave is wonderful about continuing our at-home therapies, his exercise program, and a mostly nutritious organic diet.
Dave does not feel as though he has retired. He manages the necessary repairs at home and on our rentals. He is ‘on call’ for the Grandkids, two of whom are now working, and the other two are involved in band, basketball, and soccer. Family meals are becoming a bigger challenge, but we cherish the times we spend together.
Summer is such a busy time for us. Our garden is small; however, we continue to expand it a
bit each year. Last fall, we added a few fruit trees. Our cucumber harvest has been prolific, and we enjoy sharing them. They are also delicious and nutritious, juiced. I have tried to add more herbs and flowers to our garden. I am loving our fresh parsley and basil in our daily cucumber salads. Our melons are ripening now, and I am planting some items for a fall harvest. I will also lay down cover crops to amend the soil, and then we will chop and drop them to break down and provide a mulch for next year's garden.
In July, Dave spent a week with his childhood friends, the Cherry Manor Gang, for their annual get-together, golfing, kayaking, and flying with Bob. I love that he has continued to stay connected with his 3rd-grade buddies.

We just celebrated our 40th wedding Anniversary. Rather than a vacation, which is difficult to do in August with our garden and home responsibilities, we agreed to spend the next 40 days reflecting on each year of our marriage. We are visiting local sites in Oklahoma City. We started with the canal ride tour downtown, where we saw the beautiful bronze Land Run statues from a different perspective, and watched a sunset over Lake Hefner while enjoying dinner out. We took a tour of the First American’s museum, which was emotional and powerful. We visited the American Pigeon Museum, which was fascinating, and walked the Underground in downtown OKC, enjoying the old photos and history. We entered the Underground via the First National Center, a newly renovated building that features a hotel, restaurant, and bar called the Vault. Here are a few photos of some of the sites we have seen.
We continue to support friends and family newly diagnosed with cancer. It seems the epidemic is quite real. From our hearts, we send you all, love and support, knowing how stressful and frightening this experience is. Please remember that there is always something new to try, but you must start by listening and reading about the root causes. We have been swept up in a medical system that only treats symptoms with toxic chemical compounds, failing to educate us on lifestyle and dietary changes. Cancer is a wake-up call, it is an experience, and it reflects dis-ease. Do not let it break you.
There are many ways to recovery. Our medical system has limited itself and races for cures through severely damaging our bodies, via cutting, burning, and poisoning. I encourage you to begin to gently detoxify your body, mind, and spirit, which will allow you to support the unseen bodies that science does not understand. As I have thought about it, when we were children, we rarely saw doctors unless we felt ill. Now, it seems to me, we and our children are being seen routinely once, twice, and even more often annually, and the result isn’t better health outcomes. Is it time to rethink medical care? Let’s figure this out together. Love each other through the difficulties and by doing so, we will elevate humanity. Until next time, love and peace!
